Best Foil Meal EVER! serves 3-4
3-4 turkey burger patties (beef works too)
3-4 large baking potatoes
12 oz bag sweet petite baby carrots
1 c chopped onion
Worcester sauce to taste
Liz's Special Seasoning Blend: 2-3 tsp onion powder, 1 1/2 - 2 tsp garlic powder, 1 1/2 - 2 tsp chili powder, 1 tsp salt, 1/2 tsp black pepper
Special Secret Ingredient! 1/2 c rain water (Regular water works too. It was pouring rain when we made these and there was a constant stream of water running off our tarp.)
Chop potatoes into bite size pieces. Mince onions. Mix veggies in a bowl with seasonings (we mixed the seasonings before we left home and put them in a zipper bag). Add woozie sauce and water. Mix well to coat.
Tear off one piece of heavy duty aluminum foil for each person. Place one turkey burger in the middle of the foil piece. Pile on the veggie mixture. Make sure to pour on some of the extra juice. Seal up the foil so the juice doesn't seep out while it's cooking.
As you can see in the picture above, we made a foil tray for the charcoal. I tripled the layers of foil so the coals wouldn't burn through. Lay the coals out loosely on the foil tray. Place the foil meals on top with space in between and then put several coals on top. Cook for about 20 minutes. Take one off and see how well done it is. It's the BEST EVER!
Doesn't it look FABULOUS?!!! We had BBQ sauce ready but didn't use it. Sam doesn't like turkey burger unless it's well seasoned. He gave this recipe a big thumbs up.
Awesome! Now I don't have to make a blog post of my own. I'll just post a link to this one :)
ReplyDeleteAlso, these really were the best foil meals I've ever had. They weren't burnt, dry, or undercooked, like most I've had. Go girl power!
